Il paese è situato sul bordo dell'altopiano della Planargia che domina la ridente vallata di Modolo verso il mare occidentale della Sardegna.
La superficie territoriale conta 6,92 Kmq ad un'altitudine di mt 300 s.l.m.
Abitato già in epoca nuragica, Flussio fu sede di aziende agrarie romane per la coltivazione di cereali e queste attività agrarie si propagarono fino al Medioevo. Attualmente, insieme a Tinnura, costituisce il punto di riferimento dell'artigianato dell'asfodelo, di salice e canna. Sono gli stessi abitanti che lavorano ed esibiscono i manufatti lungo la strada principale che attraversa i due paesi. A partire dal periodo primaverile si possono vedere, stesi ad essicare al sole lungo le strade del paese, anche i materiali che verranno utilizzati successivamente per produrre i vari cesti.
Il Comune di Flussio fa parte inoltre della "Strada del vino Malvasia di Bosa".

ENGLISH: The village is situated on the corner of Planargia upland which dominates the valley of Modolo going down to reach the western coast of Sardinia. The territorial surface is 6,92 Kmq extended and 300 mt high. Inhabited since the nuragic age, Flussio was site of roman agricultural enterprises for the grouth of crops and these activities had been practiced untill the Middle age. Now, with the village of Tinnura, it is centre of the Artigianal work of Asphodel, willow and reed baskets. This Art is practiced by the inhabitants themselves who work and exhibit the products along the main street crossing the two villages. In spring it is possible to see, lying to dry up under the sun along the street, also the materials that will be used to make all the baskets. The village of Flussio is also part of the “Strada della Malvasia” of Bosa for the production of the wine.
